It's been a long journey, but due to your help and support, the next step in making the California Pink Ribbon License Plate a reality is now underway.
We have reached our goal of 7,500 pre-order applications and are working with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to get the new Breast Cancer Awareness specialized license plates on the road. Full implementation of the license plate program will take approximately 12 months from the end of March 2017, when we reached our goal.
In the meantime, you can continue to pre-order a Breast Cancer Awareness license plate by submitting a Special Interest License Plate Application (REG 17) to the DMV directly. The application is conveniently located on the DMV website, here.
To pre-order your license plate, complete the REG 17 application and write in “Breast Cancer Awareness” in SECTION 1 – PLATE SELECTION (see example below). Then mail the form, along with the appropriate fee — $50 for a Sequential (non-personalized) license plate or $98 for a personalized license plate, to the address below:
Department of Motor Vehicles
Special Processing Unit
2415 First Ave., MS-D238
Sacramento, CA 95818
The Breast Cancer Awareness license plate will not be available to order online through the DMV’s Special Interest and Personalized License Plate ordering system, until after the program is fully implemented.
With gratitude and joy,
